About This Project

Welcome to Running Lightly, where I write about running as a practice for personal growth and transformation, and for experiencing more joy. It’s an exploration of presence, process, and possibility, related through personal stories and experiences from my life in running. Thank you for being here.

About Me

My name’s Mike. I’m a lifelong learner and enjoy finding connections between things that seem on the surface to be very different.

I run a lot. And, since my wife and I quit drinking, running has grown immeasurably richer. Sobriety halted the hamster wheel of inflammation and injury, unlocking new levels of performance and enjoyment. More importantly, it ignited a curiosity that has me asking, “How good could life be?”

At 50 years old, I feel like a kid and want to share what I’m learning.
